BEHOLD! Prayer Group
The Behold Prayer Group is a weekly prayer group for high school teens. The group meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and the first and last half-hour is a social time. The location varies weekly as families host the prayer group in their homes. All the participants are notified of the location via email.
Each night begins with an opening prayer followed by a time of praise and worship using contemporary Christian music. Next, the group moves into a time of dialogue and reflection. Topics vary weekly and are usually based on a passage taken from Scripture or a current faith issue with which the teens are struggling. The group is very interactive and driven by the participants. On many nights, the topics are determined by the teens.
The role of the adult leaders is to facilitate the group discussions and encourage teens to minister to each other by sharing their stories. Following the discussion period, the group moves into more praise and worship and ends by offering up prayer intentions. Although the group is Catholic, all high school age teens are welcome.
