Welcome to our Catholic Community of St. Rose and the Mission of the Good Shepherd! I am so glad that you are visiting our web site and hope you find the information you need. If you have not done so already, please come to visit us so that we may welcome you in person.
We are a Roman Catholic parish community who lives out the gospel of Jesus Christ through praying, welcoming, sharing and caring. Our Catholic Community of St. Rose and the Mission of the Good Shepherd is a friendly parish offering opportunities for spiritual growth through the celebration of Mass, religious education and participation in numerous activities to bring others and ourselves closer to Christ.
I'm very proud of the various ministries we've established in the short time since our parish was inaugurated, and for the very welcoming and caring spirit present at both St. Rose and The Mission of the Good Shepherd. Caring for each other is, we hope, the hallmark of our living faith: building strong families, reaching out to those who are experiencing tough times, and seeing how we can make a difference in our world through the works of Christian charity, mercy, and justice. I am also especially proud of our support staff and our many volunteers. Our parish would not be the warm, inviting and friendly community it is without them.
St. Rose Philippine Duchesne is located in Anthem, Arizona 11 miles north of the 101 off of I-17. We're a relatively new parish, founded in September 2004. Our mission, The Mission of the Good Shepherd, was founded in 1988 and is located about nine miles northeast of Anthem in New River.

3rd Annual Nun Run

The Poor Clare Nuns invite you to participate in their 3rd Annual Nun Run. Registration for the 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk and 1-mile walk is $25.00 (until Feb 25) and includes a T-shirt and post race refreshments. The race is on Sat, Mar 10 at 8:00a at Kiwanis Park located at 95 W. Baseline Rd. in Tempe.
The Poor Clares are Roman Catholic Nuns who moved to Arizona in 2005 at the invitation of Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted. They are raising funds to build a monastery for 28 nuns near their chapel in Tonapah, Arizona. The Our Lady of Solitude Chapel is open to the public for Adoration and daily Mass. Renowned speaker, Fr. Frank Bartel, of Peoria will show us how to apply these Scriptures to our everyday living experiences. He will help us to take a closer and more moving look at many aspects of the Liturgy of Liturgies: Holy Thursday, - Good Friday, - Easter Vigil. The Triduum (three days) is considered one liturgical celebration in three parts. This is the most important, most beautiful and most meaningful Liturgy of the year.
