If your gifts include speaking and reading comfortably in public, serving as a Lector may be the perfect calling for you. The Lector proclaims the Word of God to the worshiping community once or twice each month.
Lectors sign in 15 minutes prior to Mass and are seated in the worshiping assembly with his or her family.
In the absence of a Deacon, the Lector may carry the Gospel Book in the Entrance Procession. In addition to proclaiming the Word, the Lector may be asked to lead the General Intercessions if no Deacon is present.
The Lector is expected to read the Scriptures and pray over them in the week before reading them to our Parishioners at Mass.
